The Brumbies and the Sharks secured their places in the Super Rugby semi-finals at the weekend after close fought matches against the Chiefs and the Highlanders respectively. Both games could have gone either way with only two points the difference in Canberra and four points in Durban.

In the NRL, the South Sydney Rabbitohs got back to winning ways with a 32-12 win over the Parramatta Eels. Michael Maguire’s stunned us all by replacing halfback Adam Reynolds with Luke Keary. The youngester set up the play that effectively changed the game.

Take a look at what caught our eye over the weekend below.

The Waratahs will have taken note of what the Brumbies did to the Chiefs in the opening quarter on Saturday. They managed to run in three tries through White, Coleman and Mogg which put the match beyond the Chiefs reach. It was Coleman and Mogg’s back three partner that did the real damage though.

Asics wearer Henry Speight carried 14 times, making a total of 151 metres with the ball in hand whilst beating 12 defenders in the process.

Teams have different ways of winning matches and that is definitely the case after the two performances that we saw at the weekend. The Brumbies showed real intent out wide whilst the Sharks opted for set piece power. Tonderai Chavhanga’s breakaway try was a rare touch of flair from the home side.

Rabbitohs back on track

The Eels were on the end of another defeat at the weekend making it four in a row now for the Parramatta side. Their opponents the Rabbitohs managed to cross for six tries including two for Sam Burgess. The Rabbitohs are now up to fourth in the table and looking good for a play off spot.

We’ve recently received stock of the South Sydney Rabbitohs 2014 Man of Steel Replica Shirt.
