Simpson Daniel To Leave Gloucester?

Gloucester and England winger James Simpson-Daniel has hinted that he could be set to leave Kingsholm after 10 years at the club. The winger (who wears Nike Laser 2 Rugby Boots) who has 10 caps for his country is thought to have been frustrated at playing at outside centre for Gloucester, with himself wanting to compete for a place for England on the wing.
Having been one of the country’s leading clubs in recent years, Gloucester have struggled over the past two seasons.
Already this season they have lost six of their 10 matches in the Guinness Premiership, while they are 10 points behind Biarritz in their Heineken Cup pool.
And now Simpson-Daniel, who is contracted to the Cherry and Whites until the end of the 2010/11 season, has suggested he could be set to move on.
“I have been at the club for ten years and am one of the longest-serving players in the squad,” he told the Guardian.
“I have always wanted to finish my career here but you never know what the future might hold.
“A number of us have turned down better offers from other clubs because we want to win a major trophy with Gloucester.”
Sources say that Leicester Tigers and Saracens are the two main front runners to sign Simpson Daniel. The Tigers will be looking for a world class winger with recent signing Lote Tuquri thought to be heading back to the NRL in Australia to play Rugby League.
