Rugby Boot Spotting – RWC Round 4
With the group stages of this years Rugby World Cup almost over, the quarter final fixtures are beginning to take shape. With New Zealand, England, Ireland & South Africa all winning their respective groups, they are seen to be getting the easier draws. France, Argentina, Australia and Wales also made it through the pool stages. The only home nation to be going home early is Scotland who were knocked out after losing to England. Chris Ashton scored a later try to secure victory in a game which Scotland dominated.
Wales captain Sam Warburton was spotted this weekend in a pair of white Adidas R15′s, Australia utility back James O’Connor was seen in the White Puma v1.11 boots and Argentina’s Juan Jose Imhoff scored in a pair of Nike Mercurial Vapors. Also spotted were Bryan Habana of South Africa in Adidas RS7s and Tonga Prop Soane Tonga’uiha in Mizuno Wave Samurai 4 Boots.
Sam Warburton
Plays for: Cardiff Blues and Wales
Wears: Adidas R15 SG Rugby Boots White, Black & Red
Wales captain Warburton has led by example so far at the RWC this year and will hoping that he can help his team overcome Ireland this weekend. The open-side flanker scored for him team in their 66-0 win over Fiji.
James O’Connor
Plays for: Melbourne Rebels and Australia
Wears: Puma v1.11 Boots White, Black & Dresden Blue
After losing to Ireland in the pool stages, Australia come up against South Africa in the quarter finals on Sunday. With a handful of injuries throughout the backline, it is not yet known where O’Connor will play however he is sure to be handed the kicking duties after his 9 conversions against Russia.
Juan Jose Imhoff
Plays for: Pampas XV and Argentina
Wears: Nike Mercurial Vapor VII Boots Granite, Pink & White
Imhoof scored against Georgia which helped to knock Scotland out of the competition. Argentina now face New Zealand for a place in the semi finals and will be hoping to cause another major upset.
Bryan Habana
Plays for: Stormers and South Africa
Wears: Adidas adizero RS7 Pro SG Rugby Boots Orange & Blue
The sight of Bryan Habana limping off the field in the second half of the game against Samoa was not wanted the South African coaches, players and fans wanted to see knowing that Australia were going to be their quarter final opponents. His try in the first half proved vital in the closely fought game.
Soane Tonga’uiha
Plays for: Northampton Saints and Tonga
Wears: Mizuno Wave Samurai 4 SG Rugby Boots Cyber Yellow & Black
Eventhough Samoa beat France at the weekend, it was not enough to book a place in the quarter finals. This means that prop Soane Tonga’uiha will be returning to Northampton and rampaging through the Aviva Premiership defences once again.
