Latest Rugby News from Lovell Rugby

After being predicted easier draws in the quarter finals due to finishing top of the groups, it was a suprise to see England, Ireland and South Africa all knocked out at the quarter final stage of the competition. The performance of the weekend goes to Wales who defeated Ireland thanks to tries from Shane Williams, Mike Phillips and Jonathan Davies. New Zealand face Australia in semi final and Wales take on France.

France’s man-of-the-match Imanol Harinordoquy was spotted in a pair of Nike Legend Elite’s, Colin Slade & Mils Muliaina both wore Adidas Predators whilst Ben Foden touched down in the new Nike CTR 360 colourway. Adam Ashley-Cooper showed off the new Nike Total 90′s and Shane Williams scored for Wales wearing Black, White & Blaze Yellow Puma v1.11 Boots.

After not playing a major part in the group stages, Harinordoquy left his mark on England. The number 8 got around the park well and his ball carrying skills from the base of the scrum were key in France winning the game. Wales will need to find a way of taking him out of the game after his performance at the weekend.

This game will be remembered by all New Zealand fans as this was the game that Mils Muliaina got his 100th cap for the All Blacks. Adidas supplied a custom pair of boots to celebrate the game. Both Slade and Muliaina did not finish the match against Argentina due to injury however this did not matter as their team booked their place in the semi finals.

Ben Foden

Plays for: Northampton and England

Wears: Nike CTR 360 Maestri Boots White & Purple

When Foden scored against France, all English rugby fans thought there was a comeback on the cards. Unfortunately it was not to be the happy ending they were hoping for as the team could not do enough to catch up from the half time defecit. We expect to see Foden returning to the Aviva Premiership this weekend.

Adam Ashley-Cooper

Five tries in five games at present for Ashely-Cooper in this years RWC and the utility back will be hoping for more. He is a key member of the Australia team and has not yet been replaced during any of the five games. A showdown against New Zealand awaits the Wallabies after the win against South Africa.
