Rugby Boot Spotting – Barbarians vs Australia, 26th November 2011
Australia defeated the Barbarians 60 points to 11 on Saturday at Twickenham in a game which most saw being a much closer contest. Australia were missing some of their big names with Quade Cooper and Kurtley Beale both not featuring although their stand-ins managed to step up to the job in hand. The highlight of the game was South African Victor Matfield taking the last kick of the game, in his last test match before retirement from the international game – he missed the kick miserably!
Rugby Boots spotted from the game are Australians Digby Ioane (Adidas World Cups), James O’Connor (Puma V1.11′s) and Adam Ashley Cooper (Nike Total 90′s). From the Barbarians were Danny Cipriani back at Twickenham in a pair of Adidas adiPower Predators and one-off rugby league convert Sam Tomkins wearing Nike CTR 360′s.
Digby Ioane
Plays for: Queensland Reds and Australia
Wears: Adidas World Cup SG Rugby Boots

The flying winger tormented the Babas defence all afternoon and finished the game with two tries to his name. He ran great lines in his new boots after converting from the White and Red Adidas RS7′s.
Danny Cipriani
Plays for: Melbourne Rebels, England and the Barbarians
Wears: Adidas adiPower Predator XTRX SG Rugby Boots Black & Warning Orange

Still a talent, Cipriani will need to up his game to take the England number 10 shirt from Leicesters Toby Flood. He didn’t have his greatest game on Saturday but was still a threat with ball in hand. You can also see in the photo that Australia’s Scott Higginbotham has put red laces on his White, Black & Gold Adidas Predators.
James O’Connor
Plays for: Melbourne Rebels and Australia
Wears: Puma v1.11 SG Rugby Boots Yellow, Purple & White

O’Connor put in stunning performance at fly half in place of Quade Cooper and it is no wonder he is so highly rated. The new Rebels man has now proven at both club and country level that he can play anywhere from 10 to 15. He helped to create several of the Wallabies eight tries.
Sam Tomkins
Plays for: Wigan Warriors RL, England RL and the Barbarians
Wears: Nike CTR 360 Maestri II SG Rugby Boots White & Purple

Tompkins scored in the final play of the game on his union debut but is still insisting that he is staying in rugby league for another three years. He could be one for the England side in the future once his league contract expires and if he decides to switch codes.
Adam Ashley-Cooper
Plays for: Waratahs and Australia
Wears: Nike Total 90 Laser IV SG Rugby Boots Windchill White, Orange & Black

Receiving the man-of-the-match award after being sin-binned shows how well Ashley-Cooper played. You cannot fault his work rate for the side as he is solid in defence and a great strike runner on attack.
