Ma’a Nonu’s change of boot colour doesn’t help the Blues’ luck
Eventhough they made a number of high profile signings for the 2012 season (including World Cup winning All Blacks such as Ma’a Nonu and Piri Weepu) the Blues currently sit 14th in the Super XV table after only managing to get one win from their first seven games.
It has been a long 12 months for Nonu who after finishing the 2011 Super XV season with the Hurricanes went on to represent New Zealand at the 2011 Rugby World Cup. This was followed by a brief spell at the Ricoh Black Rams in Japan before making his debut for the Blues in their only win to date against the Bulls. He picked up his first try for his new side in their defeat to the Hurricanes in round five.
Nonu has worn a variery of rugby boots during his professional career including Nike Total 90s, Adidas World Cups and Adidas Predators. He did, however, switch to Radiant Red Adidas adiZero RS7 rugby boots in 2011. He has worn a variety of colourways since making the more but opted for the Prime Blue/Electricity for the start of the current season.
In his sides round eight match against the Sharks, the All Blacks centre went for a change of colourway in what he may have hoped would change the Blues luck. Unfortunately this was not the case and they lost 29-23 to the Sharks. The Black/High Energy Orange Adidas adiZero RS7 II Rugby Boots are the latest colourway to be released by Adidas and feature miCoach technology.
Which Adidas adiZero RS7 II colourway do you prefer; Prime Blue/Electricity or Black/High Energy Orange?
