Lovell Rugby Reviews the new Adidas AdiZero RS7 II Pro SG Rugby Boots Lab Lime/Prime Blue
A new range of Adidas rugby boots are now available, with the RS7 II being given a new colourway. This boot never fails to stand out on pitch, however it will now be even harder to miss with a primarily bright ‘Lab Lime’ design. The finer details are ‘Prime Blue’, the primary colour on the original RS7 II boot.
The RS7 was originally launched due to the success of the adiZero f50 football boot. It was the first Adidas rugby specific boot designed to inject speed and agility onto the pitch. Due to its popularity with professional and ametuer players alike, the designers made improvements to the already advanced boot and created the RS7 II. This was initally released in prime blue/electricity and was followed by the black/high energy orange colourway. The 2012 summer tests were used by Adidas to debut the new lab lime/prime blue boot.
The RS7 has a ‘Sprint Skin’ upper which is stronger than other synthetics making the boot lighter, softer and more durable. The ‘Sprint Skin’ has been reinforced making it stronger than its football counterpart. Adidas have used a sprint frame for the RS7 Pro rugby boot which is actually 50% lighter than all other regular TPU outsoles.
The heel of the boot has a ’3D Puff Print’ on the inner lining of the heel to help prevent slippage. This is ideal for players looking for instant acceleration from a standing start. This also makes the boot easy to break in so that you can get a good feel for the boots from the first wear.
Permanent midfoot support gives greater stabilty and also helps to prevent injury through its lightweight hollow core construction. The striking zone of the boot features a synthetic print to help improve control when striking the ball, especially in wet conditions.
On the base of the boot is a mixed sole plate using the rounded aluminium screw-in studs and moulded studs. This has been added for maximum traxion without increasing the weight of the boot. The mixture of studs means that the boots are suitable for all weather and pitch conditions.
Adidas have also incorporated the miCoach technology in to the rugby boot which gives you the opportunity to measures time, distance, speed, and number of sprints during training or a match. This can then be downloaded on to your PC or iPhone to be analysed by coaches or between team mates. The miCoach Speed Cell sensors are not included with the boots but can be purchased separately from Lovell Rugby.

hi, im not sure weather to go for the RS7′S or predators. the only problem i have with the RS7′S is that im not sure if would be able to kick well in them compared to the predators, help
-
hi tom, owning both the rs7s and the predators (both rx and incurza) i must say that although you can kick with the lighter rs7′s, the predators are much better for kicking as you probably would assume, they have specific kicking grips and are quite light anyways. hope i’ve helped

Hi ive just purchased the adidas RS7 ll XTRX in the lime and blue for my son He plays on the wing for club and county level . They arrived today and have plastic studs not aluminium screw in studs as written in the description . The description also states that they are made for speed although we’re unsure of the grip and speed potential on wet soggy ground as the studs are so short ? Is this the best boot or could you recommend an alternative?

Hi! I’m from Argentina, Buenos Aires, and I want to buy the Adidas AdiZero RS7 (with interchangeable plugs), the colours that I like are Blue-Electricity, all white with red stripes and all red whith white stripes (favourite). The only boots that I saw in lovell were Blue-Electricity but they haven’t got my size (10 UK). Are you going to put a new AdiZero RS7 boots, or know a place where I can buy specially the red ones (Blue-Electricity, all white with red stripes too)?
