Lovell Rugby Reviews the Adidas Predator RX Rugby Boots Black and High Energy Orange
After the success of previous colourways, Adidas have decided to further the Adidas Rugby Predator RX range with a striking new black and high energy orange colourway. After the release of the white, black and gold colourway prior to the Rugby World Cup in New Zealand, not all players switched. A large number of players, including England’s Jonny Wilkinson, retained the black and electricity colourway. Adidas will be hoping that this new colourway suits all tastes both at professional and amateur level.
The first round of 2011/12 Heineken cup matches introduced the colourway with players from a variety of clubs wearing it. Ospreys Dan Biggar, Edinburghs Mike Blair, Saracens Brad Barritt and Baths new All Black fly half Stephen Donald were all sporting the black and high energy orange boots.
As with previous versions of the Predator Rugby RX boot, it has been designed with a wider mid-foot which helps to prevent pressure in the arch of the foot. This along with the EVA insole, which is anatomically moulded, increases the overall fit and comfort of the boot making it the best fitting Rugby Predator to date.
The out-sole again features the TRAXION SG Hybrid Stud sole system. Meaning the studs will again use the clip in Adidas Traxion studs. This has been done for maximum grip on the field while keeping the weight of the boot down. The boot will also be available in a firm ground sole plate.
The Predator technology has also been perfected so that this soft compound provides unparalleled swerve, control, and accuracy on all of your touches in both wet and dry conditions. The extra Predator rubber elements have been strategically placed for extra power and accuracy when kicking the ball. There is 3D puff print on the heel linings which helps to prevent heel slippage allowing for a more effective kicking game.
The Powerspine helps to offer up to 7% more power compared to the Predator Powerswerve. This helps to reduce the risk of injury around the metatarsal area and aids the prevention of shoe deformation.

We think this is a great addition to the Adidas Rugby Boot range… but what do you think?
