Lovell Rugby Review The Adidas Predator Incurza XT SG Rugby Boots White, Navy & Yellow
Last weekend saw the return of International rugby and Adidas took full advantage by using the matches to debut their latest Predator Incurza colourway. A number of players had been seen training and tweeting their new boots in the build-up to their respective games and now we have now finally seen what the boot looks like on pitch.
The new boot was originally due for release in early 2013 but Adidas decided to bring the boot forward. This might be because the realised the high volume of coverage that the Autumn Internationals now gets worldwide. Throughout Europe there were many players wearing the boots including Dan Carter, Ben Youngs and Piri Weepu.
Made from a super-soft hybrid upper, this delivers the benefits of leather and synthetic in a single material. This style of leather has been used as an alternative to K-leather to introduce a stronger material whilst retaining the soft touch.
For players of a wider fit then these boots have been expanded, putting them on level terms with the successful Powerswerve model. A subtle and innovative touch is the 3D Puff print on the inner heel, making the boot easier to break in and ensures that the boot will fit better by locking your foot in whilst preventing foot slippage. In addition, Adidas have introduced a 5mm heel wedge to help you maintain a better running/striking position which helps reduce injury and strain on your lower limbs.
Using the new Hybrid sole plate, this utilises a combination of soft and firm ground studs for optimal grip and traction across natural soft surfaces. This sole plate has already proven successful on the AdiZero footwear series of, providing more grip without adding weight to the boot.
Whilst on the subject of the outsole, one of the key strengths of the Incurza is the inclusion of Adidas’s Sprintframe outsole construction, focusing on stability and lightweight through geometry.

Compatible with the Adidas miCoach chip which fits discreetly beneath the inner sole, not included with this boot but available to purchase separately, your boots now have the ability to report back on all your progress in training and match environments. Time, speed, distance, speed zones and number of sprints are all recorded and can be monitored by simply connecting the miCoach chip to your PC or iPhone. There’s nowhere to hide now as your every move is monitored.

Delivering a fresh approach to this latest design, a crisp white tone to the upper is complemented by yellow touches applied to the ribbed instep along with the Adidas three stripes decorated in navy. The theme continues along the sole with solid navy and yellow colours applied beneath the studs as well as on the inner sole itself.
