Lovell Rugby Interviews Leicester Tigers And England Prop Dan Cole
Lovell Rugby were thrilled this week to have the chance to Interview Leicester Tigers And England Prop Dan Cole courtesy Of Mizuno.
How Is The Season Going So Far?
Well we shall see after this upcoming weekend! Losing to Leinster in our Heinenken Cup Quarter Final was gutting and a massive blow to our season. At Leicester however as a squad we hope to use the dissapointment of that result and turn our focus onto winning the Aviva Premiership.
What Were Your Thoughts on the Recent Six Nations?
Mixed. Obviously there is the joy of winning the championship and the progression the team made in our time together tempered with the hurt of missing out on winning a Grand Slam. On reflection I think the positives learnt by the team as we move forward to a World Cup tournament out weigh the negatives of losing the final game.
After the Heineken Cup Dissapointment are you Hoping The Tigers can Win The Premiership?
Obviously! Ever since the loss our thoughts and focus have been on the Premiership as it is the only competition we have a chance of winning, and winning is why we play.
How Long Have you been Wearing Mizuno Boots?
I’ve been wearing Mizuno Boots for just over 18months now. I started due to being recommended a pair by a couple of my front row colleagues at Leicester and have stuck with them ever since!
What Do You Look For In a Pair of Rugby Boots?
Three features really, firstly traction, secondly durability and finally comfort. Traction is obviously a massive one as playing in the front row requires the ability to be solid in the scrum and if my boot were not able to grip the ground I’d be going backwards pretty quickly! Durabilty is important as I need a sturdy boot that wont fall apart or tear open when someone stands on my foot! Durability also flows into comfort, as being one of the heavier guys on the field I need a boot that allows me to push in the set piece but wont hinder me when I’m attempting to run around after!
Are you looking forward to your First World Cup?
To be honest I havent really had time to think about the World Cup, due to Six Nations and club commitments, and also I have deliberately tried not too! This is mainly due to not wanting to get ahead of myself and lose focus on Leicester end of season run in as nothing is set in stone regarding selection or injuries (touch wood) so to think about it would mean I’m doing a disservice to Leicester and my teammates as your focus would be elsewhere and not on what is important in the up coming weeks.
What Has been your Career Highlight So Far?
I would probably say winning the Premiership with Leicester last season and making my England debut are about equal in my book!
Thanks Dan and Best Of Luck For The Rest Of The Season
