Lovell Rugby have recently had the opportunity to interview Saracens & England Second Row Mouritz Botha, in association with Asics. Here’s what he had to say:

Firstly congratulations on Winning the Aviva Premiership with Saracens, after missing out the previous year, how important was it you beat Tigers this time?

Thank you! It was not really about beating Leicester, it was all about winning the final. We have put in a massive amount of work over two seasons and thankfully it paid off.

How did you find the recent Saxons campaign?

I really enjoyed the Churchill Cup. Firstly it was a great honour to represent England at this level, with a great bunch of guys. I really enjoyed working with Stuart Lancaster.

Are you looking forward to England’s warm up games and hopefully your first cap and potentially World Cup?

Yes, it will be a great honour if I get the opportunity to represent England. The warm up games are important for us to build momentum going into the World Cup. Hopefully we play well and gain good momentum.

How long have you been wearing ASICS Boots?

Been using ASICS for a season and a half now and find then unbelievably comfortable.

How impressed have you been with the Warno Rugby boots?

Very impressed with the new Warno. Very stable and light for an 8 stud boot. I have tried a couple of different brands and boots and find the Warno the best fit for me.

Also do you prefer white boots?

Yes, I prefer white boots, they feel lighter! Obviously its all in the mind!

What do you look for in pair of Rugby Boots?

As a second row I need a stable 8 stud boot, that is not to heavy. For me it has to be white, good quality and very comfortable and the Warno offer all of this and possibly the lightest 8 stud boot I have worn.
