Lovell Rugby Competition Winners Announced
Cast your minds back to before the start of the 2014 6 Nations and here at Lovell Rugby we launched two exciting competitions to guess the final table standings and top try scoring rugby boot from the tournament.
Thank you to all those who took the time to enter and we can now announce that our lucky winners are Michael O’Callaghan (final standings table) and Darren Batchelor and Harry Welch (top try scoring boot).
Keep a look out for more exciting competitions and prizes from Lovell Rugby as we continue to support you both on and off the rugby field.
As you can see from our final boot try table shown below, it was the iconic three stripes which took the top two spots, with the adidas Predator and adidas RS7 contributing thirty tries between them and almost half of the total amount scored in the whole tournament. It comes as no surprise that the joint leading try scorers, Mike Brown and Jonny Sexton with four each, both lace up the adidas Predator and prove that this is a rugby boot for players at the top of their game who demand quality and performance.
Showing that there is plenty of life for the Swoosh on the rugby field, the Nike Tiempo was only narrowly beaten to second place but still contributing ten tries which was double that of the fourth placed rugby boot. To many, a somewhat surprise entry in our boots table was that of the Under Armour Blur Carbon, as sported by Jamie Roberts and Alex Dunbar who scored two apiece. Known more for their production of the Wales rugby shirt, the American brand are becoming increasingly popular for their choice of footwear and their showing in the 6 Nations can only further enhance the reputation of Under Armour.
Casting an eye over the final 6 Nations table and we all know the outcome but only our winner managed to correctly guess the exact final standings. For many it may not have come as a huge surprise seeing Ireland deservedly winning the title, what was much closer to call though was the order of England, Wales and France as the action came down to the final matches.
