France Legend Pelous to Retire

Former France captain Fabien Pelous has announced he is retiring from rugby at the end of the season, bringing an end to eighteen years in the game.

Pelous, who holds a record of 118 international caps for France – 42 of which he played as captain – joined the national team’s France ‘A’ coaching set-up in January.

The 35-year-old, who was involved in five of France’s victorious Six Nations championships, had announced his intention to quit playing last year as he turned his attention to local politics.

However Pelous, who has played with Toulouse since 1997 after a two-year spell with Dax, had a change of heart and decided to play for an extra season.
