Bulls, Cheetahs and Lions Super 14 and 15 Shirts Now Available To Pre Order
Lovell Rugby are excited to launch the Gilbert South African Super 14 Range for pre order. The shirts which are currently being worn in this years super 14 will also be worn in next years Super 15 Competition. Lovell Rugby has managed to get hold of both the home and alternate shirts from South Africa, where the shirts are made.
The Bulls are the most Successful side in South Africa and have a host of Star Spring Bok players. Their squad includes Captain Victor Matfield, Bakkies Botha, Fourie Du Preez and Morne Steyn (Who wears Nike Vapor Rugby Boots).
The Bulls were part of the original Super 12 Tournament, against clubs from Australia and New Zealand. In 2007 The Bulls reached their first final, and faced The Sharks in an amazing final which they won at the death 20-19! They have won the Currie Cup on numerous occasions and have so far reached the final an un-precedented 6 times since the new millenium, winning the cup outright on 3 occasions and sharing it with the also Gilbert sponsored Cheetahs back in 2006. The Bulls continue to be one of the best teams in the Super 14 and will again be pushing this year to make the finals. They play in Pretoria which is known as one of the toughest grounds to win and was the ground where the Lions lost their epic 2nd Test against the Boks last year.
The Lions which are Based in Johannesburg, play in the Coca Cola Stadium. The ground where South Africa defeated the All Blacks in the 1995 world cup final. The Lions have always been centred around the Golden Lions. The Lions are part of the current crop of South African Super 14 teams, but were also part of the Super 12. Since the Cheetahs were innaugaurated into the Super 14 in 2006, the Lions have begun to find it hard going and have found themselves struggling towards the bottom of the Super 14, but with a crop of exciting players including Former All Black fly half Carlos Spencer and South Africa Speedster Tonderai Chavhanga.
The Cheetahs are based in Bloemfontein and feature Spring Bok stars Juan Smith and Heinrich Brussow (Who wears Adidas Predator X Rugby Boots). The Cheetahs franchise entered the competition in 2006. The franchise area encompasses the Free State and Nothern Cape. In terms of Currie Cup Unions, the Cheetahs draw from Free State Cheetahs, Nothern Free State Griffons and Griquas. They play home games at Vodacom Park in Bloemfontein and ASBA Park in Kimberley.
