Ben Cohen Signs For Sale Sharks

The French rugby club, Brive, has confirmed on its website that England international Ben Cohen will return home to play for Sale Sharks next season after two years.

Cohen, whose contract with Brive runs out in June, will join up with former 2003 World Cup team-mate Jason Robinson who is head coach at Sale.

“He has always given 100 per cent on the pitch in the colours of Brive,” Brive’s CEO Simon Gillham said, stating that Cohen (who wears Nike Air Legend II rugby boots) was returning for family reasons.

Sale Director of Rugby, Kingsley Jones said: “Signing Ben is a real coup for the club. I have been chasing his signature for weeks and am delighted to announce that he has now put pen to paper. He is still young enough to play for England again.”

Cohen, who stormed out of Northampton ostensibly in protest at the number of foreign players at the club, was happy to be coming home.

“I’m looking forward to joining Sale Sharks in the summer and getting stuck in to Premiership rugby again,” he said.

“I am proud to be joining a squad with a great pedigree and with ambitions to win titles and trophies.”

“I am confident that Sale has the players, coaches, management and support that will help me stake a claim to an international return next season.”

Do you think Cohen can stake a claim for England next season or even a surprise late runner for a lions spot to South Africa?
